At the side of the open-air museum is a monkey park with squirrel monkeys, where you can get up close with the cute animals. Also don’t miss the small mangrove area where you can experience some of Ishigaki’s natural Mangroves and observe the mudskippers!
Getting there
By car: Ishigaki Yaima Village is about 15 minutes by car from Ishigaki City. From Ishigaki City take route 79 north for about 9km (5.6 mi).
By bus: From Ishigaki City Bus Terminal (at the port) you can take bus 2, 7, 8 or 9 to Ishigaki Yaimamura. Bus 2 is recommended. The bus ride is just over 20 minutes.
